Did you know that the New Horizons Campus in Newport News has an animal care center that offers basic grooming services such as nail trim, bath, blow dry and clipper cut?  This allows the Veterinary Science students to learn how to respect, safely handle and treat animals in a real-world scenario.  The students give each patient a complete physical exam including temperature, pulse and respiratory rate as well as an external parasite check.  They check body weight, examine eyes, ears and teeth and provide a written record as they would have to in a Veterinary Office.  They also offer a doggie day care if you just want to socialize your fur baby.
All you need to do is provide proof of a current rabies vaccine and of course no aggressive dogs.  The cost is in the form of a donation and the proceeds from the services help support the activities as well as local animal care facilities.
If you are interested please call 757-874-4444 ext. 5587.
The students on this program come from all the surrounding school districts, we currently have a couple of Grafton students who attend.  This is a great way to support the New Horizons Center and the students who attend this program.  See the attached sheet for more details and check out the link below to see details of the program.
Wednesday, March 14th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in GHS Cafeteria. Dine-In or To-Go

The distribution of the Monday Message continues to be a challenge this year as we struggle to overcome the issues from some mail systems that treat multiple addresses in the bcc: field as spam.  We have certainly tried to work through this by asking you to add the Monday Message email address to your address book and regularly check your spam folder but this has not rectified the problem for everyone.
We have therefore decided that for the rest of the year we will add a Monday Message link to the PTSA website as well as continue to send it via email.  This will give you the option of opening the email (if you receive it) or just simply looking at the Monday Message via the PTSA website.  The link to the website is:
We are planning to replace our current system with one called Mail Chimp.  The Grafton Band already use this system and have been successful in getting out messages with attachments to a large group of parents so we are hopeful that next year will be less stressful for those involved with preparing and distributing the weekly message which we feel continues to provide important information to our membership.
The Spring Sports Parent Meeting is Monday, February 26th at 6:30 p.m. in GHS Auditorium.  This meeting will be for all High School Spring Sports except Track.  The Track Teams will meet after tryouts are completed.
You will be able to sign up for GABC membership as well as purchase Spirit Wear on 26th.
Attached is the flyer for the WINTER SPORTS Banquet that will take place on Monday, March 5th in the cafeteria at Grafton High School.  It will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a buffet before moving into the Auditorium for congratulations and awards.
Please note that this banquet is ONLY FOR HIGH SCHOOL WINTER SPORTS TEAMS:
Basketball JV & Varsity Boys & Girls
Cheer – Sideline only
Indoor Track Boys & Girls
Swimming Boys & Girls
Wrestling Boys and Girls
If your athlete has already participated in a Fall sport and received a t-shirt they will NOT be receiving a t-shirt for their Winter sport.
Each grade should bring a side dish as listed on the flyer and we ask that your dish is big enough to feed everyone you are bringing to share in your athlete’s success.
All Winter athletes competing on a Middle School team will receive their t-shirts separately unless they previously received one for Fall Season.
Thank You and see you on March 5th.
GABC Board
The Grafton Athletic Booster Club is pleased to announce the continuation of the SUMMER CAMP ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP!
