Come out and support the Grafton High School Choral Department during Chick-fil-A Spirit Night on Tuesday, February 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A portion of sales will be donated to the Choral Department!

Congratulations to the Grafton Wrestling team for competing at the 4A Regional Wrestling Tournament this weekend at Churchland High School.
Sophomore Alex Sorensen advanced to the finals and placed 2nd and Senior AJ Kemp took 5th.
Good luck at States this weekend!  Great job Grafton Wrestling!
Are you interested in playing the “Fastest Growing Sport in the U.S.?  We are looking for players!
Player registration is OPEN for Boys and Girls Spring 2018 High School Lacrosse with HRLax (Hampton Roads Lacrosse League) through February 21st.  High School division games begin March 2018. 
Join the Grafton Boys or Girls Lacrosse teams by signing up at  Players of all skill levels are welcome!

AP registration forms have been distributed in AP classes.  The cost is $94 per exam, with checks payable to Grafton High School (please include a parent contact number on the check).  Mrs. Huffines is collecting registration forms/money in her office (Rm 411). Extra forms/testing schedules are also located outside her office, as well as attached in this message.
The deadline for the forms/money is Tuesday, March 6th.

We invite you to take a night-off from cooking!!  Help GHS PTSA make some much needed money for After Prom Night Activities!  Thanks for Your Support of GHS PTSA & After Prom!
Enjoy a Hot, Fresh Meal with includes:  Outback Sirloin, Grilled Chicken, Salad, Baked Potato, Bread and a beverage.  Desserts will be offered in exchange for a donation.  Wednesday, March 14th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the GHS Cafeteria.  Dine-In or To-Go.

Are you Ready to get fit and have fun doing it???  Color Me Red & Blue 5k Fun Run/Walk on March 24th.
This awesome event is being held at Grafton High School and all proceeds are to help fund After Prom.  The cost is only $20 ($25 after March 11th) and you get an event t-shirt if you are one of the first 300 to register.
You can register on-line at anytime from now until the day before the race or you can drop or mail in the attached registration form to Grafton High School, PTSA After Prom 5k Fun Run/Walk, 403 Grafton Drive, Yorktown, VA 23692. Registration information is also found on the AfterProm website.  Get a group together and come have some fun.  
The fun run needs volunteers to make it a success!  If you’re not running/walking, please consider volunteering!  Visit to sign up for a slot that fits into your busy schedule!
The After Prom Committee is selling graduation garden flags for $22!
Flags are sold for $22 each which includes one name and year.  There is a $2 charge for an additional name and year.  Deadline to receive garden flag orders and payment is:  February 28th

Souper Lunch for Super Teachers is just over a week away on Wednesday, February 21st.   
We are serving our amazing dedicated teachers and staff soup, salad, and desserts.  Please show your appreciation by clicking on the link below and signing up to donate food.
The distribution of the Monday Message continues to be a challenge this year as we struggle to overcome the issues from some mail systems that treat multiple addresses in the bcc: field as spam.  We have certainly tried to work through this by asking you to add the Monday Message email address to your address book and regularly check your spam folder but this has not rectified the problem for everyone. 
We have therefore decided that for the rest of the year we will add a Monday Message link to the PTSA website as well as continue to send it via email.  This will give you the option of opening the email (if you receive it) or just simply looking at the Monday Message via the PTSA website.  The link to the website is: 
We are planning to replace our current system with one called Mail Chimp.  The Grafton Band already use this system and have been successful in getting out messages with attachments to a large group of parents so we are hopeful that next year will be less stressful for those involved with preparing and distributing the weekly message which we feel continues to provide important information to our membership.
Interested in supporting Grafton’s Sports Activities?  Consider joining the GABC for only $10.00.  You may be wondering where the money goes.  All of your $10.00 returns back to the athletes in equipment for each sport as well as hosting the end of the season banquet.  Senior recognition is also supported by the booster club, along with scholarships.  You can join the GABC on-line too.

From the home page you can click on the “Store” tab and as you scroll down you will see the Sprit Wear that you can buy.  Put in your order, pay with your credit/debit card (there is a small fee for this convenience), make sure you put your athlete’s name and their Home Room Teacher’s name so that the items can be delivered to them.

We are always looking for more people to join the GABC Board.  You don’t have to be in a specific Board position, extra help is always needed and very welcome.  We encourage you, the parents of athletes, to start as a Regular Board member and attend our monthly meetings which last less than an hour.  What better way to see if you have an interest in a Board position and get a better understanding of it.  At the end of every school year we have Board members leave as their athlete graduates and it’s much easier to step into that position if you know what is involved?  Please consider contacting us about becoming a Regular Board Member or ask about a specific position and how you can shadow someone now.

Parents – did you know that YCSD students have access to a wide variety of online educational resources, both at school and at home, to support their academic success?  Tools such as Homework Help/Office 365/Power School and Hot Math.  You can have access to all these tools too, just sign in to the portal using your student’s username and password.  The website is:
